AUTUMN COLOURS of SNOWDONIA & LLANDUDNO 3 star Merrion Hotel 1st - 4th October 2010 Friday 1st Llandudno is one of the largest and most popular of the Welsh seaside resorts, and it still retains much of its Victorian character and charm. The golden sandy beach at North Shore is set in the magnificent crescent shaped bay, flanked by Great Ormes Head and Little Orme, with Llandudno and its elegant promenade lying protected between the headlands. On our journey to Llandudno we shall call at Oswestry, a charming medieval town with narrow passages, black and white buildings and a mix of independent shops and restaurants. The Merrion Hotel (www.merrion-hotel.com) situated in a prime position on Llandudno’s promenade, invites you to experience exceptional hospitality and accommodation designed to create a relaxing atmosphere. Be tempted by their award winning cuisine with home made bread and delicious desserts. Saturday 2nd A scenic day tour through the wonderful Snowdonia National Park. We shall call at Bala, a small town steeped in history, beautifully situated amidst spectacular scenery at the head of Llyn Tegid, and Betws-y-Coed the principal village of Snowdonia National Park made famous by Victorian artists who wished to capture its natural beauty. Sunday 3rd A scenic coastal drive to Caernarfon, with time to visit its impressive castle or walk around the town, before continuing over the Menai Bridge on to the Isle of Anglesey and Beaumaris. Monday 4th After a leisurely breakfast we shall depart the hotel for a morning visit to Conwy, renowned for its medieval castle and town walls. It also has a picturesque harbour overlooking the River Conwy. Depart for home in the early afternoon.
